Cleaning 101: DOG FRIENDLY LIVING & WORK SPACES

Cleaning Tips 101

Increase vacuuming frequencies in both carpeted areas and upholstered surfaces.

Vacuum hard-surface floors with a HEPA vacuum cleaner; do not sweep or dry mop, as this may encourage pet hair to become airborne and land on tables, chairs, counters, etc.

Change floor mop heads/ pads and cleaning solution frequently to ensure germs and bacteria from dogs paws do not spread during the cleaning process.

Staff up.  For larger facilities, employ a day porter or multiple day porters to address "incidents."

Increase both high & low dusting to manage pet dander that may become airborne.

Clean the lower parts of glass doors frequently to address areas where dogs may lick or touch.
